Can you feel how nest-builders try to have life under control with these questions? When you help out with these requests and don’t hinder them, these are all open worry loops they can now close. You’re making life (and living it) so much easier for them. Mind you, these are loving requests, not orders.

“You never turn off the lights. You clearly have no idea how hard I have to work to pay the bills, do you?” is not a loving request. It’s manipulative and meant to shove some guilt onto the other person. Nevertheless, a nest-builder may turn to this type of communication when the love pond has dried out. They will probably have asked nicely first.
